Pitt pulls biggest upset in years...

Yes, you read that correctly; your Pitt Panthers stunned WVU last night, 13-9...All I can say is wow...

(Pic from postgazette.com)

Up yours, Hoopies...

On a frozen night in Morgantown, where holding on to the ball was at a premium, Pitt caused 3 fumbles and killed any dreams the hoopies had of going to the national championship...I personally think the Big East told the officials to help WVU out, because there was bad call after bad call against the Panthers, including 2 phantom holding calls and a celebration foul that was horrendous...As Sir Charles would put it, that's just terrrrrible...

More to come on this game in Diego's Monday Morning Hangover...

Player of the game definitely goes to Shady McCoy, who rushed for 148 yards and set the all-time Big East freshman rushing record...This kid is amazing, and I am damn glad he'll be with us for at least the next year...Let's hope he doesn't pull a Larry Fitz and dip after next year...But I'm thinking he'll stay for three, but we'll see...

Pens lose, Pitt wins...

Doesn't quite sound right does it? It's not very often PNA gets to sing the praises of the Panthers and bash the Pens on the same day, but I'll give it a shot...

The Pens squandered yet another two goal lead in a 3-2 loss to the hated Islanders last night...

Sid has been one of the few bright spots this season...

They looked OK, seeing as they had some chances (including Sid ringing one of the crossbar) but just couldn't capitalize...and what really pisses me off is old man Al Arbour got a win in his swan song, coaching his 1500th game...Fluery was alright, making a ton of saves, but the goals he did allow were partly his fault, partly just shitty luck (pucks bouncing off boards, etc...). I am sticking with my comment about needing a new, veteran goalie to be competitive..Marty Turco anyone?

As for our Panthers, they actually won, beating Syracuse 20-17 at Heinz Field yesterday..Shady McCoy was a beast again and the special teams contributed two big returns that lead to points...I didn't like the fact that we couldn't punch it in in the first when we had the ball on the 1, but, considering all we've seen this year, I'll take a win any way it comes...

Thank God Shady is a freshman...

Until tomorrow, when our Steelers will be eating Raven for dinner...

SNACK ATTACK!!!!

I’m going to post some random grumblings and grievances on a somewhat regular basis…or whenever someone pisses me off. This segment, by far my favorite, is called SNACK ATTACK!

Jimmy McGuire…who the hell are you? You are all over the stations Snack frequents pushing off some eyeglass chain when no one, and I mean NO ONE, I know has ever heard of you. I did some research and found out he’s some jagoff from Jeopardy!. Obviously not the host, mind you, but he’s the guy who travels around for those video clues. That’s really tapping the bottom of the barrel as far as celebrities go. This guy is on the N-List of celebs…the NO ONE F-ING KNOWS YOU LIST!

Matt Cavanaugh…I know we’re all supposed to be feeling good about Pitt beating Cinci, but I’ve seen way too much of this guy trying to go for the tricky play when all you need to do is give the ball to your future All-American running back. That’s right; I said it, future All-American. Hell, he could be a Heisman candidate if Wanny ever gets it together enough to put a winning team on the field. But I digress. When you are on the goal line in overtime looking at third-and-goal from the 2-yard line, anyone with half a brain would give it to Shady McCoy who already scored 3 touchdowns to go along with 165 yards, or let the true freshman Bostick throw two incomplete passes in the end zone. I understand hindsight is 20/20, but this is ludicrous. Anyone who has ever seen a football game knows better then that, and after 3 sub par seasons someone has to pay, and with a little luck it’ll be Cavanaugh. I can't blame him for Shady fumbling the ball as he did yesterday, but I didn't think his play calling did much to prove me wrong. Until that last drive Bostick had almost no yards and our team was completely one-dimensional.
