Despite our best efforts to make a comeback, the Steelers lost tonight 31-29...
I'm not in a real good mood because of this, so this is gonna be short and sweet - We screwed ourselves with those three picks in the first half, and then we got screwed on a phantom holding call lodged against Sean Mahan on our two point conversion attempt in the fourth.
What really blows is the conversion originally was good on an outstanding grab by Hines Ward. The play should have at the very least had offsetting penalties as Ward was molested while catching it. Even John Madden, who I think may be the worst and dumbest announcer ever, made a comment about how you can't make that call in a game of this importance.
I know, I know, I'm just crying over spilt milk now, but honestly, we probably didn't deserve to win this game. It was a crappy way to end the season, but at least we get a better draft pick...Let's hope Tennessee wins tomorrow so we get a lil closer to that 20th pick...
Until tomorrow, when hopefully Pitt wins or you may have to put Snack on suicide watch...

Very tough loss, enjoy the playoff atmosphere, with the 2008 schedule they will be very lucky to finish 7-9 during 2008. They tanked over the last 5 games.
We will now see how Mr. Vocabulary can coach because I still think the blunders regarding the two point conversions are just the tip of the iceberg. He does not have enough experience and on the job training in Pittsburgh as the headcoach is going to age Tomlin and test the fans like no other.
I hope I'm wrong but you gotta call them like you see them.
Steelers are a great team and should have taken the game but that was not the case. I'm a Pats fan living in the northeast kinda hard not to be and looks as though they may take it all this year hard to beat them the way they have been going.
Yea, they shoulda won, but what are ya gonna do?...It all goes back to our horrible recent history with home playoff games.
I don't know if they get too fired up or what, but at least in my lifetime they've never been able to win the big game at home.
As far as Tomlin is concerned, I think you're right, he is a lil wet under the ears, but I think this season has really helped him as far as what he should expect as a head coach. Injuries ravaged his team, and he made some stupid calls himself.
I figure it's all part of the learning process, and if I remember, Cowher was known to make some stupid decisions himself (every time we had a lead we'd go into the god forsaken cover 2 deep with no one pressuring the ball...I can't tell you how many times that cost us wins).
Hopefully Coach Mike learned from this year, and from what I have gathered from everything I've read and seen, he will. Every coach he has ever worked for or gone against has had nothing but glowing reviews, and while I know that's the company line in the NFL, it seemed like everyone knows he's on his way to something special...
And thanks for the timely comments boys, I appreciate it
I think Coach Tomlin is a good coach and will continue to grow - would of, should of, could of, is easy to say after the fact. The Steelers need a lot of improvement in lots of areas. Let's not forget our sorry special teams.... Remember Cowher didn't do a very good job in any post season for a long, long time.
Yea, you're totally right, they do need a lot of improvement, especially on special teams...although it's weird that the specialists themselves aren't the problem, but the actual coverage guys are. Maybe we need a new coach or maybe we just need to get more athletic backups, I don't know.
Another thing we definitely need to improve is the offensive line. Mahan has got to go, as he was definitely the biggest disappointment of the season. Who woulda thought we'd miss a 57 year old man with bad knees (Jeff Hartings)...
And Cowher's inability to win playoff games is legendary. The only reason we won that Super Bowl was our team's dominence...I don't think Big Bill did anything spectacular to help them along, but I guess he didn't really hinder them either.
