Steelers Recap

Man that game f’n rocked, holy shit, it really was great. I am pretty sure that was the best Steelers game that I saw all season long, what I remember of it at least. Your boy Diego was at the game, and it was ugly out there last night, but we still managed to party like rock stars. We endured the rain, we drank beer, ate dogs and burgers, and we harassed some ravens fans, good times. It might have been ugly but at least it was some football weather.

I have to start with defense as they showed the Ravens who were the real cream of the crop in the AFC north last night. Last year, the Ravens may have been the shit on D, but this year Ray Ray and company ain’t what they used to be. Man the Steelers were fired up for this one. They came out and they didn’t want to give the Ravens an inch when they had the ball on offense. It was a coming out party for silverback Harrison, he had a career night on MNF with 9 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception. Jimbo Harrison was playing on a big Monday night stage and he stepped up big time; the man’s motor was running hard last night. I wonder if Joey Porter was watching from his mansion in Miami? Dick Lebeau’s game plan worked to perfection last night forcing repeated turnovers throughout the entire first half.

Big Ben was also ready to go last night as he passed for career high 5 touchdowns in the first half last and he made it look pretty damn easy. Ben was avoiding the pass rush like a pro, managing to keep his throwback jersey clean for pretty much the entire first half. As we all know whenever Ben is playing the way he was last night, we don’t lose. The big man went 13 for 16 passing for 200 yards, and zero turnovers. I am pretty sure if I woulda suited up for the second half I coulda caught a TD pass, the Ravens secondary looked that weak.

The highlight of the game for me was seeing Raven’s all pro safety Ed Reed getting absolutely blasted by James Harrison. What can I say? The man was crushing people all night long. Seriously people, I could watch that hit on a continuous loop all day long. That wasn’t it for Reed though; he also got lit up by Hines Ward which shook him up enough that he had to leave the game. Hines also blasted Bart Scott on a dump off pass to Willie. The Steelers wanted to get a point across last night, and they did they job nicely. It has been awhile since I’ve seen the Steelers physically dominate a team like that. If we play like that for the rest of the year we won’t lose another game.

After getting the win last night the Steelers are now in the driver’s seat in the AFC North, sitting at the top of the division with a 5-2 record. If we beat the Brownies at home next week you might as well reserve your playoff tickets now. That’s it for now, sorry, but the memory is a little foggy after all the liquor I drank last night.
